Animal Control Lost & Found

 

Please check with the Stanly County Animal Control if you have a missing pet or if you would like to adopt a dog or cat.  The phone number is 704-986-3881.  You may, also, see the dogs and cats available at the shelter by clicking on petharbor.com.  This site, PetHarbor.com, has pictures of the dogs and cats available for adoption from the Stanly County County Animal Shelter.  Their gender, main color, breed, and day brought to animal shelter are included. The Animal Control shelter is located at 1037 Coble Avenue, Albemarle.  The shelter's hours are:  Monday - Friday, 9:30am-4:00pm and Saturday, 10:00am-12:00pm. Animals not claimed within three days after being picked up might be euthanized.  

Availability

Monday - Friday, 9:30a.m.-4:00p.m. and Saturday, 10:00am-12noon  An Animal Control Officer is available for emergencies seven days a week - 24 hours a day.  After hours, leave a message on the answering machine 704-986-3881 or call 911.


Fees

All services are free of charge except adoption and reclaiming.  Adoption charges are:  dogs - $75.00 and cats - $75.00.  To reclaim an animal, the charge is $75.00 if the dog or cat was picked up Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., $75.00 if the dog or cat was picked up after hours, on the weekend or a holiday.  To reclaim animals caught in a county trap - $75.00. To reclaim animals taken with a tranquilizing gun -  $100.00. To reclaim an animal after the owner has been contacted and a 24 hour period has passed - reclaim fee plus $15.00/day.   The fee for an animal bite confinement is $15.00/day.  The fee for a full 10 day confinement is $150.00.
