Animal Control

Purpose

The Animal Control Program’s primary purpose is to implement rabies safety control measures.   This involves enforcing laws related to Animal Control which includes ensuring dogs and cats are immunized against rabies.  Animal Control strives to reduce animal suffering and distress by providing a safe environment for lost or abandoned pets, facilitating the safe return of pets to families, administering adoptions of stray or unwanted dogs and cats, and educating the public about responsible pet ownership.
